"I was there so long ago" Chris Cornell's voice sends shivers through me - amazing! I was fortunate enough to see both Soundgarden and Rage Against the Machine live - brilliant - any wonder Audioslave were so good. I miss the whole 'grunge' era of alternative sounds !! Another guy who's vocals send 'shivers' through me is Eddie Vedder - what an amazing voice !! This one's for you Dave - enjoy PEARL JAM - Black" I know some day you'll have a beautiful life, I know you'll be a STAR In somebodys else's sky But why, why, why Can't it be, oh can't it be mine"

here's another old oldie that popped up in relative searches for me:
miss most 80's like pearl, alice.. unless they were 90's not sure, audio, electric light orchestra rofl. They just don't make music like they used to... I guess they ran out of real musicians, I suspect too many ppl have been getting out, and the entire earth consists primarily of musciians and artists and creative minds, moreso than the remainder of what's free right now supposedly, and helping us.
"Well this gun's for hire!"
edit: lol and then that girl ended up on friends. idk why i remember this nonsense xD

I agree dave, they don't make music like they used to. It's become more and more homogenised like everything else - less and less freedom of expression as the big-corporate machines take greater control - they just churn out the 'artists' using the same formulas, the result being they all sound the same - hard to distinguish one from the other. When you hear Janis Joplin for example, you KNOW it's Janis Joplin - I can't think of anyone alive at the moment who is that distinguishable - can you ?
The Boss huh ?! I enjoy this song but was never a big fan....till I saw him in concert.....fantastic stuff.....he definitely had my respect and appreciation after that ! What about this one .....I used to love this (still do)[/b] THE BOSS - I'm on FireGreat reminiscing with you Dave - when it comes to music, I have to say that its always been a passion of mine. I've always loved music...so many gigs, so many good times - but like anything in the matrix, it comes at a price. I came out relatively unscathed, but the whole industry really is about sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll - lots of the guys (and girls) I knew ended up doing drugs and/or copious amounts of booze, along with loads of disfunctional relationships (all in the name of "having a good time and partying on"). It's good to be in a different place now - not surrounded by that energy of decadence and hedonistic behaviour ! BUT, I Still love "ROCK 'n' ROLL" (and country. and blues, and reggae, and soul, and.....I guess I just LOVE MUSIC !!) edit: Yeah, that's funny, Courtney Cox (is that her name?) - just recently I was told it was her dancing with the boss - that's when it occured to me it was probably a set-up. Maybe it was her in-road to 'stardom'. They have been having re-runs of Friends (crap program), so thought I better watch an episode for the first time ever so I could see the girl who Bruce danced with on stage - think maybe she's a replacement (cloned), as a lot of them are apparently. Yeah, crap show !!

Always loved this song - thought PAN was referring to Peter Pan - could be also about PAN - The IS-BE that escaped spiritual imprisonment. as stated in that brilliant document Reginleif posted - LOVE the song even more now !! THE WATERBOYS - Pan (with lyrics)Another version (unplugged)And another version with band picsCome with me on a journey beneath the skin Come with me on a journey under the skin We will look together for the Pan within
Close your eyes breathe slow we'll begin Close your eyes breathe slow and we will begin To look together for the Pan within
swing your hips loose your head, and let it spin Swing your hips loose you head, and let it spin And we will look together for the Pan within
Close your eyes breathe slow and we will begin Close your eyes breathe slow and we will begin To look together for the Pan within
Put your face in my window breathe a night full of treasures The wind is delicious sweet and wild with the promise of pleasure The stars are alive and nights like these Were born to be sanctified by you and me Lovers, thieves, fools and pretenders and all we gotta do is surrender
Come with me on a journey under the skin Come with me on a journey under the skin And we will look together for the Pan within When to be with you is not a sin When to be with you, oh just to be with you is not a sin We will look together for the Pan within

Another Waterboy's Classic - I know it's '80's and maybe a bit dated but great lyrics - about seeing the bigger picture
"I saw the crescent, you saw the whole of the moon"
WATERBOYS - The Whole of the Moon [youtube]
I pictured a rainbow You held it in your hands I had flashes But you saw the plan I wondered out in the world for years While you just stayed in your room I saw the crescent You saw the whole of the moon! The whole of the moon!
You were there at the turnstiles With the wind at your heels You stretched for the stars And you know how it feels To reach too high Too far Too soon You saw the whole of the moon!
I was grounded While you filled the skies I was dumbfounded by truths You cut through lies I saw the rain-dirty valley You saw brigadoon I saw the crescent You saw the whole of the moon!
I spoke about wings You just flew I wondered, I guessed, and I tried You just knew I sighed But you swooned I saw the crescent You saw the whole of the moon! The whole of the moon!
With a torch in your pocket And the wind at your heels You climbed on the ladder And you know how it feels To reach too high Too far Too soon You saw the whole of the moon! The whole of the moon!
Unicorns and cannonballs, Palaces and piers, Trumpets, towers, and tenemets, Wide oceans full of tears, Flags, rags, ferry boats, Saddlebags and scars, Every precious dream and vision Underneath the stars
You climbed on the ladder With the wind in your sails You came like a comet Blazing your trail Too high Too far Too soon You saw the whole of the moon!
